Construction is complete on the new Staunton Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court located at the former Chestnut Hills Shopping Center (AKA the old Big Lots), located in Staunton's West End.

The project finished on schedule and the contractor delivered the building to the city before the Nov. 1 deadline. The facility opened for its first official day of business on Dec. 15, 2025.

What's Next? 

The courthouse is now open and the city continues planning efforts for the remainder of the site. Work is currently underway with a consultant to develop a conceptual design for the future use of the surrounding property, supporting the long-term vision for revitalizing the West Beverley Street corridor.
